A Conversation with Selena Marie Morales, Yoga Instructor
PM: For those who may not know you yet, who is Selena, and what inspired your journey into yoga?
SM: I’m a yoga instructor, Physical Therapist Assistant, and mental health advocate passionate about creating inclusive, all-level spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies and breath. My journey started as a personal practice, but over time it became something deeper as I experienced its mental and emotional impact. That transformation inspired me to share yoga in a way that feels approachable, supportive, and grounding.
In my classes, I focus on creating safe, present environments where people can truly connect with themselves. It’s not about achieving perfect poses—it’s about awareness, ease, and trusting your body as it is.
PM: You describe your classes as “inclusive and all-levels.” What does that look like?
SM: It means everyone is welcome. I offer options and modifications so each person can move in a way that feels right for them. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, you’ll find a space where you feel supported, not intimidated.
PM: Tell us about your Strength & Mobility Yoga Flow.
SM: It’s a balance of intentional movement and mindful pacing. We build strength while improving flexibility and mobility—both essential for overall wellness. It’s not about pushing limits, but about creating stability, releasing tension, and moving with awareness.
PM: You also offer a free community yoga class. Why was that important?
SM: Accessibility matters. Yoga shouldn’t feel exclusive or out of reach. The free class creates a welcoming space where anyone can come, move, breathe, and feel connected—without barriers. It’s just as much about community as it is about the practice.
PM: Yoga in the Park sounds beautiful. What can participants expect?
SM: It’s truly special. Practicing outdoors adds fresh air, natural light, and a deeper connection to nature. It’s both grounding and energizing, allowing people to slow down, step away from routine, and be fully present.
PM: For someone feeling intimidated about starting yoga, what would you say?
SM: You don’t have to be flexible or experienced to begin. Yoga meets you exactly where you are. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up as yourself—no pressure, no judgment. Just starting is enough.
PM: Beyond the physical, what transformations do you see?
SM: I see people become more connected to themselves. They build confidence, learn to listen to their bodies, and create space to breathe. It’s not just movement—it’s about finding presence in a busy world.
PM: What do you hope people take away from your classes?
SM: I hope they leave feeling stronger, more grounded, and more connected—to themselves and their breath. Even one moment of peace can make a difference. Yoga isn’t about doing more; it’s about noticing more and allowing mindful movement to support both body and mind.
PM: How can readers connect with you?
