At just 23 years old, Yomaris Rodriguez has already spent more than five years building her expertise in professional skincare. As a licensed aesthetician at Reading Dermatology in West Lawn, Pennsylvania, she combines advanced treatments with personalized care to help patients achieve healthier, more radiant skin—and greater confidence.
PALO: You’re only 23, yet you already have more than five years of experience in skincare. How did your journey into aesthetics begin?
YOMARIS RODRIGUEZ: I developed a passion for skincare at a young age. I loved learning about skin, understanding why certain concerns happen, and discovering treatments that could make a real difference. Over the years, that interest grew into a career that I truly love.
PALO: What do you enjoy most about being an aesthetician?
YOMARIS: For me, it’s the transformation—not only in someone’s skin, but in how they feel about themselves. When a patient starts seeing improvement, and you can see their confidence growing, that is incredibly rewarding.
PALO: What types of treatments do you specialize in at Reading Dermatology?
YOMARIS: I work with a variety of treatments, including advanced laser treatments for concerns such as hyperpigmentation and rosacea, chemical peels, microneedling, and customized facial treatments. We also offer everything from classic facials to HydraFacial, which provides deep exfoliation, cleansing, and hydration.
PALO: With so many skincare treatments available today, how do you determine what is best for each patient?
YOMARIS: It starts with understanding their skin. Everyone’s skin is different, so I look at their concerns, goals, and individual needs before recommending treatment. Skincare shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. The best results come from creating a plan specifically for that person.
PALO: What is one misconception people have about professional skincare?
YOMARIS: Sometimes people think they need the most aggressive or expensive treatment to get results. That isn’t always the case. The right treatment, consistency and a good skincare routine can make a huge difference. It’s really about giving your skin what it needs.
PALO: You work in a dermatology setting. How has that influenced your approach to aesthetics?
YOMARIS: It has allowed me to combine the beauty side of aesthetics with a deeper understanding of skin health. I want my patients to have beautiful skin, of course, but healthy skin is always the foundation.
PALO: What do you want someone to feel when they leave your treatment room?
YOMARIS: I want them to feel refreshed, cared for, and confident. I want them to look in the mirror and feel good about their skin and about themselves.
PALO: At only 23, you have already built a strong foundation in your career. What do you hope the future holds?
YOMARIS: I want to continue learning and growing because aesthetics is always evolving. There are constantly new treatments, technologies, and techniques. I want to keep expanding my knowledge so I can continue providing the best possible care for my patients.
For Yomaris, aesthetics is about much more than achieving a beautiful complexion. It is where science, beauty, and personalized care come together, helping each patient uncover healthier skin while rediscovering confidence along the way.
A Personal Note: Reading Derm and Med Spa is also where I, Rosa Julia, personally go for my facial treatments and skincare. Yomaris is my aesthetician, and I also have the privilege of having Dr. Amy Hendrix, CRNP, as part of my care. My experience with both of them has been truly wonderful.
Something else I greatly value about Reading Derm and Med Spa is its large team of Spanish-speaking professionals. From the moment you walk in and are greeted at the front desk to the staff working directly in the treatment areas, having people who can communicate in Spanish makes the experience feel much more comfortable, personal, and welcoming.
That is why it was especially meaningful for me to sit down with Yomaris, learn more about her work, and share with you a little of the dedication, experience, and care that are part of Reading Derm and Med Spa.
