This month, Palo Magazine turns its attention to something that touches every one of us: our health and well-being.
Health is so much more than what we see on the outside. It’s physical, mental, and emotional. It’s taking care of our bodies, protecting our peace, recognizing the effects of mental and emotional abuse, and having the courage to seek help when something isn’t right.
October also brings awareness to important issues including Breast Cancer, Domestic Violence, ADHD, and Bullying Prevention. These are conversations we need to continue having in our homes and communities.
Wellness also means staying on top of our everyday health—taking medications as prescribed and having a trusted pharmacy and pharmacist you can turn to with questions about your prescriptions. Sometimes the small things we do consistently can make a big difference in our overall health.
On our cover, we introduce you to Yomaris Rodriguez, who, at only 23, has already spent more than five years working in professional skincare. Her story reminds us that caring for our skin isn’t only about beauty; it’s also about health, confidence, and feeling good about ourselves.
As we close out Hispanic Heritage Month, my heart is full after the incredible success of our 2nd Annual El Boricuazo. Seeing our community celebrate our culture, music, food, and traditions reminded me that cultural connection is also part of our well-being.
We are working closely with Reading Hospital -Tower Health to bring you more education about your health and how they can help. In this Health & Wellness Edition, I hope something inspires you to take better care of yourself, mind, body, and spirit.
