I was asked once before: “I’m going on vacation and my hotel has no gym, should I just not workout?” I chuckled so hard, and I responded: “The truth of the matter is that, even if there’s a gym in your hotel, the chances of you visiting it are very low.” I am sure I was not just speaking to my client; I have spoken to all of you!
When we travel, we often feel the urge to commit to working out, thinking we will have more free time without our at-home responsibilities. However, this rarely happens. This is all right because simply being away from your normal routine will naturally increase your activity levels. In so many ways the average person often finds themselves breaking a sweat during vacation with seemingly mundane tasks like loading and unloading luggage, navigating stairs, and consciously opting for healthier food choices.
Tips:
Weather permitting, you can rent a bike, take a brisk walk, or go for a run, all while enjoying the sights. Taking advantage of the indoor swimming pool will be a great choice for the joints too! Water bottles and chairs have been highly known for being used to target biceps and triceps, which are very easy to access in a hotel. There are just so many options!
Not only will you return home stress-free, but by adhering to these fundamental steps, you may even shed a few pounds during your vacation stay!
