It is not necessary to talk about technology and forget the traditions or vice versa, the important thing is to understand how both can coexist in times of changes like the ones we are currently experiencing, We are in times where everything is mixed or not?
The speed with which we are accumulating and accessing knowledge is surprising, however, we must not leave behind that all these advances are based on how things have been done in the past and that they have worked (traditions), but now they look for a more optimal way for people to learn it. We are talking about using what we have traditionally been using but in a better and more promising way. We are in a historical moment where traditions can be seen from another perspective and through technology continue with them in a more attractive way for those who are adopting them in their lives.
An example of what I try to say is the Christmas traditions with which I grew up, but when I moved to this country I believed them in danger of extinction. “Las novenas de aguinaldos” is something that we Colombians celebrate for 9 days before Christmas Day and I have been able to continue doing it because of the technology, I have access to videos, the book we use to pray and the story of the complete tradition to make my children be part of something that is important to me.
And you, what tradition do you want to move on to your next generation using technology as the best of allies?
