Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania has been serving the residents of Berks County since 1947 by offering a wide range of life-changing services to support people with developmental delays, disabilities and other special needs, and their families. At their center on George Street in Muhlenberg Township, they provide outpatient occupational, speech and physical therapy, as well as an autism clinic and specialty medical clinics featuring top-quality medical and surgical specialists from Philadelphia and the surrounding area. The clinics are underwritten by the United Way of Berks County and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, so they are offered at no cost to children from birth to age 21.
Easterseals is a premier provider of Early Intervention services for children starting at birth and provides free developmental screenings through their Make the First Five Count program to ensure early identification of potential delays when it is most critical. Screenings are conducted in partnership with community organizations but are also available on their website to families that are curious about their child’s development and growth.
Easterseals is also known for their high-quality summer camp, recreation and respite programs. Camp Lily, their summer day camp, is located on Mount Penn and has been a popular fixture in the community for 30 years. They recently expanded their program offerings to include employment support services for adults and employment preparation services for high school students with disabilities.
