As we close out another year, December always invites us to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the heart of what truly matters. At Palo Magazine, this month’s theme The Spirit of Giving & Entrepreneurs Creating New Holiday Traditions, reminds us that generosity isn’t only about gifts wrapped in bows. It’s about showing up for our communities, supporting local businesses, and building traditions that reflect who we are becoming.
This edition features the inspiring leadership of Hillary Aponte-Chimelis, who embodies the courage and creativity it takes to transform holiday routines into meaningful rituals. Her voice, along with those of many entrepreneurs, reminds us that new traditions can be powerful bridges between culture, family, and personal growth.
As we look back on the year, I share in these pages someone else’s perspective on “What 2025 Taught Me,” his personal reflection on growth, resilience, and the beautiful, unpredictable journey of building community through storytelling. I also explore important conversations, such as The Commercialization of the Holidays, inviting readers to think about how we can celebrate with intention. And because the season can be as overwhelming as it is joyful, we dive into Resetting the Body After the Holidays, as well as the timely and encouraging topic of Sobriety & Holiday Parties.
My hope is that this issue uplifts you, inspires you, and reminds you that giving isn’t a season, it’s a spirit we carry all year long, and just because we celebrate life doesn’t mean we have forgotten those who are no longer with us.
From my heart to yours, Happy Holidays
