It Takes a Team: Summer Interns Prepare RMCTC for 2026–27
This August, Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center (RMCTC) spotlights the students who spent their summer making sure the building is ready before the staff walks through the door. Interns from a variety of programs put their classroom skills to work on real projects that benefit the whole school community.
Our Building Property Maintenance, Painting & Interior Design, Building Trades, and Horticulture students have been busy with general upkeep, deep cleaning, and refreshing classrooms so they are ready for the upcoming school year. From fresh paint to tidy grounds, their hands-on work means staff and students return in August to spaces that look and feel brand new.
The Advertising Design & Commercial Art interns have also been hard at work producing this very Palo magazine article each month while designing posters, t-shirts, and stickers for the RMCTC Career Camp. Beyond that, these students are creating marquee signage for new teachers’ classrooms and handling additional design needs to help the building start the year strong.
Meanwhile, our Print Media Production interns have been printing student uniforms for the 2026–2027 school year, making sure every student has what they need on day one. Congratulations to Manuel Flores, who has transitioned from intern to full-time employee in the RMCTC Print Shop.
Together, these students represent the best of what career and technical education offers: real skills, real responsibility, and real impact. Their summer work doesn’t just prepare a building; it prepares them for the workforce, giving them experience they’ll carry into their careers long after graduation.
The next time you walk into a freshly painted classroom, see a new poster on the wall, or pick up a uniform, remember it was a fellow student who made it happen. Please join us in thanking these interns for their dedication and hard work this summer.
