BALANCING PASSION PROJECTS WITHOUT BURNOUT
Many people have skills or interests they love that would make them money. Some of us are blessed enough to make it into a side hustle. While I love my full-time job, my side hustle makes me happy as well and provides more income, but at times I can feel overwhelmed and at the point of feeling burned. So, I want to share some tips on finding ways to avoid becoming overwhelmed while having your side business.
But first, what is a Side Hustle? It is a part-time job, usually doing something you are passionate about to make extra money. There are positive things about a side hustle, like having an extra income, feeling more empowered, having the opportunity of turning it into a full-time business, and being your own boss.
However, there is also a negative side to it. A side hustle can be time-consuming, taking away from your personal life, which includes time with loved ones and time for yourself. I know what you are thinking, “I need extra income, or this is something that I love to do”. I get it, but it is important that there is a balance, so your mental health is not negatively impacted.
Let’s look at some helpful tips that can help with a healthy balance:
- Make a schedule to help with time management and allow time for a personal and social life.
- Prioritize and rest. You also need to let your mind have a reset. This should include regular physical activity, sleep, and healthy eating habits.
- Ask for help and reach out to your close friends. You don’t have to do this by yourself. Make sure you have a strong support system.
Remember, money is not everything. Your mental health and well-being are first and foremost.
