Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center (RMCTC) offers a variety of nursing and healthcare programs designed to give students a strong foundation for their future careers. Over the course of three years, high school students gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as medical terminology, anatomy, patient care, and taking vital signs—skills essential for success in the healthcare field.
Students in Ms. White’s and Ms. Kier’s classes: Kiara Leon, Roselyn Pagan, Lillia Kolb, Natalie Franco-Duran, Kenia Hernandez, Natalie Caraballo-Luzon, Giancarlo Chavez Salazar, Maya Musa, Charlotte Rivera Perez, and Kimberly Reynoso—are enthusiastic about their training at RMCTC. Each of them not only benefits from classroom learning but also from internships that allow them to apply their knowledge in real-world healthcare settings.
For example, senior Roselyn Pagan is pursuing her interest in becoming an MRI technician because she is fascinated by the ability to see the human body in such remarkable detail. Like Roselyn, many students find inspiration through both their studies and their hands-on experiences. Senior, Kiara Leon, has learned that every little skill and body part has a purpose and is important! Senior, Lillia Kolb, wants to provide comfort and care for patients and their families when they are in challenging times. As she gains experience through an internship, she will be able to apply this to her career goals! Natalie Franco-Duran is pursuing medicine so she can learn to help heal others both mentally and physically.
All students agree that patience, understanding, empathy, and compassion are essential qualities for a successful healthcare professional. As these dedicated seniors complete their time at RMCTC, they are well-prepared to pursue a wide range of rewarding opportunities in the healthcare field.
