Travel with Coco had the pleasure of being part of the Uncommon Women Podcast’s 2nd Annual I Love Myself Some Food Cook-Off, an exciting community event that brought together food lovers, empowerment, and friendly competition.
This year, the crown went to the talented Jamoca Harkins, owner of Butter Pecan Café, who now has the honor of serving as the featured chef at the upcoming 5th Annual I Love Myself Seminar.
The I Love Myself Seminar was created as a safe space for women to gather, be uplifted, and empowered, sharing ways to practice self-love through life’s challenges. The cook-off was introduced as a spin-off event bringing the community together to taste, connect, and choose the chef who will cater this empowering seminar.
This year’s competition featured five incredible chefs, each serving three dishes: mac and cheese, a chicken entrée, and a seafood option. The community sampled each and voted for their favorite. Butter Pecan Café claimed first place, marking another milestone in its second year of business.
Jamoca, a mother, wife, entrepreneur, and culinary school graduate who has been cooking for years with one mission: to make people feel good from the very first bite. With a background in psychology, she sees food as a way to spread joy and connection.
You can find Butter Pecan Café at Made in Coatesville, 228 East Lincoln Hwy. Open on Saturdays and for events/orders at 610-466-5590 or butter-pecan-cafe.com.
