What is the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) for Medicare?

Medicare’s AEP is the time of year for those already enrolled in Medicare Insurance to make a change in their coverage. Every year, AEP runs from October 15th through December 7th, and any updates to coverage will go into effect on January 1st.

Why is AEP important?

Your current plan’s coverage could change, premiums may increase or decrease, or additional benefits may be added or taken away. It’s important to ensure your needs are still covered under your chosen health plan.

Should I take action during AEP?

It’s not always necessary to take action during AEP. If you’re happy with your coverage and the impending changes to your current plan, then you don’t need to do anything. However, if you’re already enrolled in Medicare and would like to adjust your coverage, now is the time to make the change.
