My name is Ja’Mir Rivera, I am a Reading High School student and senior at Reading Muhlenberg Career and a Technology Center in the Diesel Technology program. I signed up for the diesel program because I have a love for working on large vehicles, and the diesel program was the right choice for me.
Mr. Noecker, my instructor, is the main reason I stayed in diesel for my second year. He is a great teacher and helped me learn a lot about the field. He taught me a lot this year and introduced me to welding, grinding, and brakes. As of today, he is the best teacher I have ever had, and I am extremely grateful for him. He cares about our success in the field. He is the main reason I have an internship for the summer at East Penn Manufacturing working in their truck garage.
RMCTC has a great summer internship program for juniors becoming seniors. For many students at RMCTC, it is our first position in our respective field. As I work full-time this summer at East Penn, I hope to learn many new skills. RMCTC and East Penn have taught me technical skills as well as the personal skills of the workplace. I hope to continue learning and growing in the field I love the most!
