My name is Dynasty Parrilla, and I am a senior at Reading High School and a 3rd year student in the Health Medical Professions program at RMCTC (Reading Muhlenberg Career Technology Center). My goal is to work in the medical industry as a physician’s assistant specializing in cardiology and dermatology. With this profession, I will be able to assist others by providing treatment for patients, prescribed therapy, or medication with physician approval, and supporting any other physical or mental needs.
During my studies both at RMCTC and in college, I will do my best to gain experience in clinical settings, researching programs, volunteering in the hospital, and shadowing professionals. With the guidance of my teachers, mentors, and coaches from RMCTC and through my internship at Penn State Health, I am learning the required tools and necessary skills that will allow me to achieve success. I’ve learned and now realize the importance of communication, teamwork, leadership, organization, time management, professionalism, and mental preparation. These educators have motivated me to break out of my comfort zone and to go beyond my previous capabilities.
I want to thank Ms. Kier, my HMP instructor, and Ms. Andrzjewski, my coordinator at Penn State Health for their direction. I wouldn’t be where I am today without God, my mentors, and the support of my family.
