My name is Sage Desimone, and I am a senior enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center. My last three years here have been a transformative experience that has significantly impacted my life in many positive ways. It has equipped me with essential culinary skills and has also fostered a deep passion for culinary art.
The hands-on learning environment provided by the CTC allowed me to sharpen my cooking skills while exploring diverse cuisines and developing a keen understanding of the intricacies of the culinary world. Engaging in the Culinary Arts program has opened doors for me to embark on a Co-Op position at Texas Roadhouse, a job I absolutely love, which has also been a pivotal opportunity for my career path and has proven to be immensely beneficial over the past few months. Immersed in the fast-paced environment of the restaurant industry, this hands-on experience has provided invaluable insights and heightened my comprehension of the dynamic nature of the culinary field. The intensity and rapidity of the job have made it one of the most intense roles I’ve ever undertaken, presenting a steep learning curve that has significantly expanded my skill set and knowledge base.
These last few months of Co-Op have not only deepened my understanding of the intricacies of the culinary world but have also equipped me with practical, real-world insights that extend beyond the confines of a traditional classroom learning environment. When my dream of being a chef is finally realized, I can proudly say it all started right here at RMCTC!
