My name is Daniel Padilla, and I am a senior at Reading High School, and I am an Auto Technology student at Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center. I have always had a love for working on cars. I had an uncle who was in the automotive industry and a cousin who is working in the field right now.
At RMCTC and with the help of my instructor Mr. Yankowski, I’ve learned a lot about the basics of the automotive trade. I learned automotive diagnostics, basic electrical skills, and also the ability to work hands-on with vehicles in our program. I am also learning every day about how to be a good technician. It requires skills in your field, but also good customer service skills and time management. Mr. Danks, our instructional assistant, also has knowledge of the trades to help us at RMCTC as well!
I’m currently doing an internship at Tom Masano through their service manager, Mr. John Kujawski. This internship began this past summer and is continuing until I graduate. I am working with an amazing technician, Mr. Tim Deamer, at Tom Masano. I’ve learned a lot of new skills to help me become a more efficient technician. Tim is very patient and shows me how to work as part of a team! Upon graduation, I want to work in the automotive/engine field, attend post-secondary education to improve my skills, and hopefully gain the skills needed to be a master mechanic with the possibility of continuing on with Tom Masano!
