You can inspire the next generation by joining RMCTC’s Occupational Advisory Committee. Let’s hear from three people who are already members and are more than thrilled.
George Stuck, Owner-Alloy Fabrication
Serving on a Welding Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) is a great way for prominent local business owners and other community leaders to engage with today’s youth which will be the workforce of tomorrow. The goal of serving on the OAC is to strengthen school technical programs and career-focused teaching. Committee members provide invaluable real-world viewpoints which help ensure students are equipped with every educational tool they need to get a jumpstart on the job market once they graduate.
Justin Lamp, Creative Director-WANdisco
As a proud graduate of RMCTC in 2002, my journey has come full circle serving the Advertising Design OAC at RMCTC. Having experienced firsthand the fun and engagement that this program offers, and how it sets students up for success, I am thrilled to be able to empower current and future students with industry insights, mentorship, and the tools to flourish in this field and life. I feel honored to help the next generation fall in love with the dynamic world of design and serving on this board is just a simple way to give back.”
Lizette Morales, Dental Office Manager- Linsey Eyecare & Dental
Being on the Dental OAC at RMCTC is important because you get to see the educational part of what’s going on to prepare students for an office or professional setting. You see what the students are learning, are able to help to share your knowledge of your field and help to offer input about the real world. I think another part of the experience is just being able to see the number of students who are interested in dental occupations and how the instructor is helping to allow the students to become professionals and offer internship opportunities. As a 2018 graduate of the Dental Occupations program, I am honored to give back by serving on the OAC and also having an RMCTC intern working with me!
