With the warm weather traveling season is upon us. Many people travel 3 to 7 hours by plane to theirdestinations. Sitting still for these many hours could cause some neck tightness even before you arrive.
The reality is that economy and coach seats are uncomfortable. The C-shaped seats are not an ideal position to be sitting for long periods of time. They do not offer lumbar support. They also push your head forward making you slouch for several hours.
During the flight you should get up, move around and stretch every time you have enough space without disturbing others. Recline your seat, this decreases the gravity and pressure of your body weight on your spine. Use neck pillows or back support accessories. Sit correctly and watch your posture, by doing this you will keep stress off your lower back.
After the flight, take a walk to restore good circulation. If your hotel offers a gym, stretch with a foam roll, or do some Yoga from the internet. It will feel amazing! Try to sleep in a relaxed fetal position on your side with your knees bent. Use a small pillow and place it under your neck and between your knees, which will help keep your spine in alignment. If the pain persists, see a Chiropractor. Browse local Chiropractors and check their credentials and review before making an appointment.
These tips will ensure to minimize your pain and make the most of your trip.
