I think it’s a question many of us ask ourselves. But in reality, I think we start learning to live our lives as we should have many more years prior. I myself just turned fifty and even though I have been on a spiritual journey for several years now, this birthday alongside losing my brother in January who had just retired about four years earlier, losing a 27-year-old friend in a car accident on the same day, having a family member get sick, getting a call from my daughter that she had a car accident and literally about three weeks later my husband and I also having a car accident, all of this made me think more about how long do I have here on this earth and how am I going to truly live this life.
All of this really shook me up so much, that I even went to the extreme of calculating that if statistics state our life expectancy is about 77 years old, and if we are already fifty, this means we possibly only have about 9855 days left on earth. Doesn’t this sound crazy? I know this may sound dark but it’s not, this is just a sign that we need to do the things that we always wanted to do. It’s now or never!
Studies state that the biggest item on the bucket list is traveling more. So, let’s start seeing the world, and possibly even retiring earlier, whatever you do go live the rest of your time in this world as you see fit, let’s start crossing off things from our bucket list. Feed the body, mind, and soul with great adventures.
Thanks to Suzanne Williams and Kathy Cook, two ladies that I went to school with for sharing the pictures of their trip last month to Egypt. I love to see people traveling the world, especially people that I grew up with.
