During this month we show our love for others, but it is important to remember that love begins by loving yourself first. Many times, external experiences and relationships are just a reflection of the love and respect we have for ourselves. You cannot give what you do not have. Others, (whether we want to accept it or not) treat us as we treat ourselves. This new year, fall in love with yourself, focus, and discover who you are.
Some people believe that loving ourselves is just taking care of our bodies, with exercises, diets, manicures, and creams, however, it is a little more complex than that. Loving yourself means taking care of yourself, forgiving, healing, and making the conscious effort to associate with people and activities that bring us peace and well-being. We need to make an inventory of our life, reflect, and remove everything that drains us, that limits us, and that stagnates us.
Loving yourself is remembering who you are and who you were before all the situations that you encountered. It is also remembering what are the things that ignite the flame of your passion for your career, for your relationships, and for your legacy. Loving yourself is discovering yourself again and reinventing yourself to achieve all those goals that you had forgotten or that you kept postponing. The world needs more people who take the time to get to know themselves and to fall in love with their dreams, their ideas, and their purpose.
