Leaders understand, what you consume regularly is what you’ll become! This is true in terms of conversation, company, reading, scrolling, edibly, and more. I often share this concept in parts one and two of my 5 Points of The Day.
Point #1, What We Consume When We Wake; many of us will wake and immediately pick up our phones to check work emails or scroll social media. It doesn’t seem like a big deal until years later when you hate your job, detest the people sending you emails, and are droning about your life aimlessly due to the constant pics, videos, and reels on social media constantly filling your brain and stealing your time. Yes, I check emails and I like social media too, however, it’s important to put something in your head and heart that makes you BETTER instead of BITTER or simply ENTERTAINED before your day starts and to be mindful of who and what you subscribe to on your phone… allowing you to scroll and evolve!
Point #2, Organize Your Day; write a list of things you get to do today that allow you to succeed for the day, professionally and personally. At the top of the page, write “Wins” … what would be a big win or wins for the day… allowing you to WIN the day, instead of the day constantly kicking your butt? If anything gets crossed off your list, that does!!! I do these 5 days per week and so can you. It’s truly amazing what you’ll begin to accomplish as the weeks, and months go by. Success compounds and winning becomes as addictive as losing!
We all know what would happen to our bodies if we ate at McDonald’s for every meal every day (side note, I love a #1 from time to time) … the same thing will happen to your mind, your job, your relationships, and your life, professionally and personally, when you’re not mindful of what you consume regularly. Be sure to read the label of that gossiping coworker, that negative office talk, complaining to start your day, bashing the “new” and “change”, talking poorly about your partner and life all day then expecting to return home in love and to a loving home, I could go on, but you get the point! Be Mindful of what you consume and be sure to have an awesome rest of your day… and life!!!
