Josephina Rocio Encarnacion and Rocio Josephina Encarnacion were born March 13 in Corona, Queens, New York currently they reside in Berks County, PA. We asked them a few twin questions.
Is there an easy way to tell you apart? Rocio has a gap in her front teeth. All you need to do is ask us to smile. However, once you get to know us, you can always tell us apart. We are very alike, but our personalities are very different.
Do you ever switch places? Yes, in college. Only one person noticed. He asked questions that only Rocio would know, and he knew Rocio had a twin.
Are you identical or fraternal? According to our DNA testing, we are 99.999999996% identical.
Did your parents get you mixed up? They did when we were newborns. My mother once fed one of us twice by mistake, but Rocio has a birthmark.
Do you have twin telepathy? All the time & sometimes we don’t need words to communicate we have a powerful sixth sense between us. We sometimes have the same clothing colors or finish each other’s sentences. We can answer some questions at the same time. We are very in sync with our thoughts.
Can you feel each other’s pain? Not physical pain, but we can feel each other’s emotional pain or feel a sensation of being uncomfortable. We are very much in synchronicity in our life paths, so it’s easy to tell when one of us is misaligned. When we moved to the Dominican Republic, we were in different classrooms, which didn’t work out. We wouldn’t stop crying, so we stayed in the same classroom until college.
Do twins run in your family? On my father’s family’s side in the Dominican Republic, there are many.
Do you feel people expect twins to like everything the same? Being twins is fascinating but brings assumptions. We are individuals who like the same things, but also, we like different things. We have different personalities. Josephina likes chocolate cake, and Rocio doesn’t. Josephina likes going to the gym, and Rocio enjoys home workouts. Growing up being dressed alike, was the expectation. We had the same friends during high school but our individual friends once we went to college. We do share a favorite movie together: I Am Legend with Will Smith. Our homes are decorated differently; Rocio is the more eclectic in-home decor. We are both highly sensitive individuals, but Josephina expresses it more. The only thing super different is we have different ex-husbands… lol.
How are you different or the same in business? Rocio chose a career in engineering where she could work alone. She is more calm, mellow, and very introverted. Josephina chose a career in business where she could be more of an introvert extra and can interact more often with people. We both love teaching and creativity, but we do it very differently. Rocio is technology savvy, and Josephina is a business expert. We are both business growth educators and experts in small business startups and expansions. We do business plans for commercial loans and do Food Safety Certifications. Josephina is also a Business Consultant at Kutztown Small Business Development Center, and we motivate people on social media.
Is your health pretty much the same? Yes, we have similar health routines, we both work out, have the same pescetarian vegetarian diet, practice the same meditation techniques, and read the same books for personal growth. We have made the same changes to become healthier. And if one starts practicing a new health activity, the other will follow. We hold each accountable for our well-being. We are a team when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle.
