Let’s meet the twins Rosa & Nydia Colon. I was fortunate to go to high school and graduate with the Colon twins and thought of them as soon as I thought of doing this twin edition. They were born in 1973 in Fajardo P.R. but moved to Reading one year later. We asked the twins a few questions, here are Nydia’s & Rosa’s answers combined.
How to tell you ladies apart? Nydia has a slimmer face & Rosa has a rounder face.
Did you ever switch places? We switched places on April Fool’s Day in seventh grade. The teachers didn’t suspect anything. Also, during the pandemic, our father was hospitalized, and the family was only allowed to have one visitor a day. Nydia works the second shift & Rosa works the first. She would visit mornings with my ID & inform me of what she was wearing. Then I would visit afternoons with the same ID and outfit. The hospital staff never suspected anything. We did this for almost two weeks.
Did your parents mix you up? Our parents always get us mixed up especially over the phone because we have the same voices.
Any twin telepathy? We consistently call each other at the same time. Nydia will go to the mall & pick out an outfit without Rosa’s knowing. Rosa will come home a few days later with the same outfit. Definitely, we think alike & act alike.
Can you feel each other’s pain? Nydia feels we don’t feel each other’s pain. However, Rosa feels that mentally they do.
Do twins run in the Family? We have twin cousins in our family.
Any differences or similarities? We definitely have similar tastes in clothing but not in men. Nydia loves to dance & travel. Rosa says she feels they both love to laugh & have a good time. We definitely try to be positive role models to the younger generation. We also both currently work at East Penn in the same building, but on different shifts and we see each other every day.
How does your health differ? Nydia eats healthier and loves to dance. Rosa is more of a homebody & junk food eater. As kids, our teeth would fall out days apart but the same tooth. However, we feel our health is about the same.
