Annmarie Sullivan Dallao and Rosemarie Sullivan Sandman born March of 1961 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Reading, PA. We have siblings named Jim, Joann, Jerry, and Mary.
Is there an easy way to tell you apart? & Did your parents mix you up? Annmarie has a bigger bone structure & is ½ taller than Rosemarie. Our Mother would always grab our wrists to tell us apart as Annmarie had thicker wrists.
Do you ever switch places? In our Spanish class, and we would always play tricks on our Grand Mom by switching around and making her guess.
Are you identical or fraternal? We were born 5 minutes apart in different sacs, however in 2018 through DNA testing we discovered we are identical 99.99999%!
Do you have twin telepathy? Yes, when it comes to emotions and well-being. We both knew the exact time our father passed away. Rosemarie was on a business trip in Bangkok and Annmarie was home and awakened by bright light and overwhelming feeling in her home in Reading.
Can you feel each other’s pain? Rosemarie stated that she knew when Annmarie broke her finger in 11th grade. We are very good at sensing when the other is depressed or overly stressed.
Do twins run in your family? On our mom’s side, we have twin second cousins, Rosanne & Dianne. They also did a DNA test locally at ARCpoint Labs of Reading to find out they were identical. It is very beneficial to know because Rosanne had breast cancer and Diane now performs routine breast exams.
Do you feel people expect twins to like everything the same? Yes, when we were younger, we got tired of hearing “the Sullivan girls” “the twins” “the Marie sisters” etc. We also ended up sharing gifts. One time my mom got us a cassette player to share. We fought over it so much that she returned it and bought us each a cheaper one. A bonus for twins is you have double the friends! Her friends are my friends and vice versa.
How are you different? Annmarie was always more athletic and loves sales and marketing while Rosemarie is more musically inclined and enjoys working in a managerial role performing auditing for safety and compliance. Our style of clothing is also slightly different. Rosemarie likes flowery and flashy things and Annmarie is more of a plain Jane.
Is your health the same? Yes, and that is why it was great to find out we were identical. Annmarie recently did a food allergy test and we both benefited by avoiding scallops and dairy. It’s great that we can learn from each other’s experiences!
Annmarie actually met her husband Al Dallao when he confused her for her twin sister. He had gone up to ask Rosemarie about a March of Dimes campaign and Annmarie responded you must know my twin sister and the rest is history…lol.
