My name is Cesar Gonzalez, and I am a senior at Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center in the Welding & Manufacturing program. I decided to enter welding in the beginning because I was very excited about the sparks.
I love welding because I like working on different projects. I heard about it at Reading High School when RMCTC came to talk to our class, and I loved that welding gave me the option to work with my hands.
Mr. Millan, my welding instructor, is a great instructor. He has always helped me to learn and grow in welding and in life. I am also working on some certifications at school such as FLUX Core. I currently work for Alloy Fabrication which is a company that fabricates lots of products for many companies. I like to work hard, and my Co-Op position with Alloy has helped me to grow and learn and to work for a great company. I am performing TIG, and we sometimes do MIG welding. I also have gotten to use and program the CNC plasma machine where I cut pieces for jobs. I get to weld specialty pieces for many different companies.
My fellow RMCTC co-op student, Juan Diaz Jr., helps me a lot. We learn together. Kevin Rickenbach, a welder at Alloy, has a lot of experience and has helped me grow. In the future, I want to work for Alloy, but also have my own business and do jobs on the side. I am very excited to be in the welding fabrication field!
