They say that 59% of Americans believe vacations are important to their overall health and well-being. Yet I know plenty of people that don’t ever go on vacations, don’t budget for one, and don’t believe they are important.
I feel that you are setting yourself up to get a heart attack or have other health issues if you don’t program a few vacations a year. Unwinding and relaxing are necessary for our heart and soul plus it’s like spring cleaning your house or just like rebooting a computer or else it starts acting up, humans operate in the same way we start acting foolish. I will go further yet and say that I used to think this was needed once a year only, but I realized that we should be taking several vacations per year. If possible, I would dare to say quarterly. If your job and finances allow it, then do it more often. If you can’t fly or drive far, then do a staycation just don’t continue to work nonstop, it’s unhealthy.
I will be honest with you I dislike when the older generation acts like they are just super-heroes because they didn’t take vacations. First for starters they didn’t take them because most jobs didn’t allow it, and most couldn’t afford to take them anyway. Little did they know that travel is good for our health, and our relationships, it also helps us learn more about the world around us. So, just this once, don’t listen to your elders, take that deserved vacation because it’s important to escape from our everyday routine besides, it also helps boost the economy.
