In the month of February, we are focusing on the Celebration of Life & how capturing those moments is especially important. It also ties in with culture and roots as that many times is what is used as inspiration to many of the things that we celebrate.
When someone says celebration, what does that mean to you? Perhaps you think of a party, with friends and family. Yes, that usually is the case, but I have noticed that there are many ways to celebrate life and milestones in our time on this earth. For example, for me celebrating doesn’t necessarily mean a party. If I reach a goal of mine, just going out to eat is a celebration for me. For others treating themselves to a mini photoshoot to capture the moments is a form of celebration. Traveling is another way to celebrate but for some, if you were the first to graduate in the family that calls for a bigger celebration. Then there are the obvious ones such as weddings, sweet sixteen, baby shower, engagement, the list goes on and on.
We cover plenty of other topics this month such as curly hair discrimination, citizenship marriages, and divorces, we cover sexual concerns in the relationships and how to spiritually prepare for marriage, wedding stress and even testing for STDs prior to marriage, teen life challenges, and remembering our loved ones that have passed away.
We have many more topics therefore I suggest you find our content page and look for topics that are of interest to you or a family member and share or pass the magazine along to someone else. Have a great month and don’t forget all the things to celebrate in February, yes, it’s more than just Valentines’ Day, there is Black History Month and frankly, I think it’s way more important than Valentine’s Day, but you may choose to celebrate whatever you would like but the most important thing is to respect what others believe in and celebrate. Have a great month!
