About 37% of U.S. travelers are planning both international and domestic trips, according to an upcoming Expedia report on 2022 travel trends. However, traveling outside the United States could be a big problem with the new coronavirus variant Omicron.
Due to the little information, the World Health Organization has about this virus in general, one takes a significant risk by leaving. For example, suppose they close the border or prohibit entry to the United States due to the virus (like it happened in March 2020). It would be devastating because you could lose your job, not see your family, have financial difficulties lengthening the trip, etc.
So why not travel within the United States?
Each state has something extraordinary to see, explore and taste. I have been in 34 states (50 total), and I am always impressed when going to a new place. The United States has so much to offer that until you start visiting it, you won’t believe it.
Which one do I recommend? Take your pick: Hiking the Grand Canyon in Arizona, enjoy the beaches of Florida or Hawaii. Learn from Washington DC museums, admire the northern lights in Alaska, or explore Pennsylvania’s landscape and Dutch history (Amish Culture).
What about visiting the tallest trees on Earth at Redwood National State Parks in California or bathing in the hot springs in Colorado? Both are excellent activities.
The Spanish mosses in Savannah, Georgia, are lovely too. Participating in a Mardi Gras in New Orleans would be a unique experience, and a boat ride in Bar Harbor, Maine, where you can sightsee some whales, would be memorable.
As you see, I only mentioned 11 states and one place on each. But, there are thousands of things you can do without spending or risking too much. Plus, you will be helping our economy and creating unforgettable moments that will last a lifetime.
Where are you going next?
