My name is Tiphany Son. I am a senior at Muhlenberg High School and a third-year Health Dental Occupations student at Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center. When I was younger, I dreamed about a career in the medical field. I took a tour at RMCTC and discovered Health Dental Occupations.
My teacher, Ms. Rusnock has taught me everything I need to know about how to become a dental assistant. We have both dental theory and hands-on learning with state-of-the-art dental equipment. There’s a lot of science, math, and medical terminology involved in dental assisting. It is a new world for me. RMCTC has helped me see my future.
In order to reach my dreams, I kept pushing myself to learn as much as possible. Ms. Rusnock and Mrs. Hughes believed that I had what it takes to work in a real dental office. I was able to get a paid summer internship and put everything I knew to the test at Kotula Dental. Thanks to RMCTC and Dr. Kotula, I worked as a part of a team, gained new friends, and obtained more knowledge and skills while assisting Dr. Kotula with patients. I have continued to work at Kotula Dental 2 days per week during my days at RMCTC.
By attending RMCTC, I have helped myself to secure a career in the field I love. I thank RMCTC for the tools needed to succeed, a foundation of knowledge, and the experience to go further in any dental field I choose!
