We live in a world where everything is done fast and leaves no space for self-reflection. As the new year arrives, we start thinking of the specific things we did this year. We can also think what we did or didn’t do, our failures, relationships that didn’t work and we can go on and on. Our hopes are to have a better year where our deeds, our words and our lives become better.
If we want to enter the new year with deep values and meaning by which we can live our lives, we can start practicing spiritualty to have inner peace and purpose. Practicing some form of spirituality, will help you connect with your inner and outer world enhancing your health and emotional wellbeing.
We can become more spiritual by meditating 5 to 30 minutes a day or more. It will help you declutter you mind and visualize your life from a more positive perspective. It can also help you calm anxiety and stress allowing you to sleep better. You can incorporate nature walks and reconnect with Earth. Being surrounded with trees, the sun and the sounds of the birds helps you have a deeper appreciation for life. Journal every day to express gratitude, love, and forgiveness. Take the time to think, write and express with honesty everything you are grateful for. Lastly, be present and develop a sense of knowing you are more than what your eyes can see.
