Is it a health concern? Hair loss is one of those things that can cause a great deal of stress and concern. It’s normal to have some hair loss as our hair reaches the shredding phase. However, excessive hair loss is not normal. Note: If you have excessive hair loss, you should consult a healthcare professional.
These are some common reasons that may cause or aggravate your hair loss:
- Taking certain medication
- A poor diet/not drinking enough water
- Stress
- Not getting enough rest
- Hairstyles that put stress on the hair
- Heat or chemical use
- Hormone changes
To help reduce hair loss you can try hair vitamins, reducing your stress level, meditation, drinking water, a healthy diet, and getting enough sleep. If you find that your hair loss does not get better after a few weeks call your doctor. Our body is great at communicating with us when there’s something wrong. If the hair loss does not improve, there might be an underlying issue that needs to be addressed.
