We are in the month of October again and right away I start thinking of Breast Cancer and all the women that have died due to Breast Cancer and many other cancers such as ovarian, cervical, endometrial cancer, and the list goes on and on. It hurts to know with all the technology that we have in our back pockets every day and still, too many lives are being taken by this horrible monster.
I’m dedicating these two pages to the strong women that were taken from us and the ones that survived and may still be fighting breast cancer or any other cancer or illness, and especially to the ones that may have been recently diagnosed. Throughout the years Palo Magazine has dedicated some part of our October edition to Breast Cancer.
One of the ladies that I went to school with for many years Evelyn Lopez didn’t make it, but she was a fighter. She will never be forgotten. Perhaps her story and the story of others will help another fighter.
If you are looking to honor someone you can easily, do it by being supportive. You can start by either registering for one of the many walks or community charity events that are taken place in your local community or just pick a day or two in October and dress pink for awareness, if you know someone going through it right now then do something for them or their family like cook a meal for them once a week, keep in mind that something simple could mean the world to them.
