Photography is a fun and educational experience. And whether you walk the street in your own city, travel the country or the world, you’re always learning something. You are learning about photography and the places you visit.
You can also meet some great people in the photography world. Other photographers and even the people you would like to capture in a photo. Being that photography is a profession for some and a hobby for others, for everyone who is behind the camera, it is art. And while there are rules to photography, such as composition, lighting, balance, leading lines, keeping things straight, etc., etc. There are no rules to art.
Yes, at times you need to make sure you follow the rules and create the images that your customer is interested in. But when you’re doing it for yourself or just for fun, you don’t have to follow those rules. You can let your imagination run wild with it. And when you do that, you can also learn new things and become even more versatile in the art of photography.
I enjoy capturing and sharing moments with others. Whether it is moments in people’s lives, moments in nature, or things that I have staged to get away from the “rules” of photography. The art of photography is something that I genuinely enjoy playing with and sharing with others. I see art in general, as a way to bring people together so they can share thoughts, stories, and experiences of their own. So, I guess, art…is a lifestyle.
