Dance is a powerful art form to promote mental and physical wellness. We are all born natural movers. Dance is an inviting and nonthreatening way for us to express ourselves. Through the use of dance, we assist in children’s explorations, self-awareness, self-confidence, emotional regulation, and social skills. Hip-Hop dance has been proven to use large motor play physical regulation nonverbal communication problem-solving skills with individuals and groups of children.
Dance in all forms and for all ages has been proven to be a stress reliever. It can help with anxiety and lift your mood. Our experience with building social bonds has been effective through our Dance on the Street Fest aka D.O.T.S. Fest.
It is the one day that the multicultural community gets together with one purpose to dance! A day where everyone is happy and joyful because when you dance your body releases endorphins. This is a chemical that triggers positive energy and good vibes! It helps improve our emotional state and reduce our perception of pain so basically dancing is your cure for happiness.
