During my four years of high school, I enrolled in The Information Technology Applications (ITA) Program at Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center (RMCTC) from 2012-2016.
When I started RMCTC I barely spoke English and thought it would be a barrier to completing the program. However, thanks to Mrs. Merkel who supported me, I was able to graduate from RMCTC and obtain two different student certifications: The National Occupational Competency Testing Institute, and Management Information Systems. I was also able to earn 12 credits with Reading Area Community College (RACC) through my participation in the Technical Academy. These credits were transferred to Penn State towards my degree.
Ever since childhood, I have been passionate about robotics and technology. But it was after attending the ITA program at RMCTC, that I decided to pursue a career in computer engineering. I started my college career at Penn State Berks, staying there for two years, before transferring to University Park in the Fall of 2018. One of my dreams was to study abroad, therefore, in 2019 I enrolled in a semester long study abroad program in Madrid, Spain. While there, I was able to take engineering courses in Spanish, and travel to 10 different countries from Europe and North Africa.
I will be graduating from Penn State in May of 2021, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. In June of 2021, I will be moving to Owego, NY to start my professional career as an Associate Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin.
