Has it happened to you that on many occasions we are physically in one place, but really our mind is in another place? I really believe the answer to this question is “yes.”
And this is how unfortunately we lose unique and special moments. Many times, we are so worried about tomorrow that we forget to live today. Many of us as parents make the mistake that we dream of our children finishing their elementary school, high school, or university that we forget to celebrate them every day when they make the effort to pass a class, exam, or a course.
Many times, we wait so long for that special day to achieve goals that we do not see the journey, tears and sacrifices they had in order to get there. And many times, when we see at the ceremony, acquiring the diploma then at that moment we have a flashback of all their years of studies, and you know what? Our mind flies to those years gone by and we do not experience the joy of the moment when they are actually parading! In other words, we worry so much about the future that we lose the present and when we get to that “future” we only feel longing for the past. What a great irony!!!!
It is time it is time to be in the present, to enjoy today. So, whether for a child, a partner, a marriage, a family whatever your current situation or event, stop and live in the moment. Live in the present by taking control of your thoughts. Do not allow anything, not even yourself, to steal your joy, rob you of the opportunity to be present in body, soul and spirit in that special place and moment.
