Women2Women – 10 Years + GROWing Strong
Ten years ago, a group of eleven women sat around a conference room table, each from a different industry and at different stages in their professional lives. These women shared one common goal: to affect change in women’s leadership roles and meet women where they are within the Greater Reading community. Welcome, Women2Women.
Now, 10 years later Women2Women (W2W), a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), the program boasts 7,000+ members receiving monthly e-newsletters and 4,500+ active social media followers. These are our members; women and men who all support women. When launched, W2W had 1,500 members and only just created a Facebook page.
We are and will continue to live our mission of being Greater Reading Chamber Alliance’s catalyst for developing women leaders and connecting women from diverse backgrounds to learn, share ideas, and mentor each other…even if that means we do it from remote locations for a while. One of the best parts of the W2W program is getting together monthly for our workshops. It is here that women meet each other, learn about each other, and find common threads that connect them for the future while attending a development workshop. Both in-person and virtually, women are raving about the opportunities for connection that we create for them – through Zoom, mobile apps, and other online platforms (for now).
The next 10 years of Women2Women proudly boasts inclusivity at new levels making sure all voices are at the table and heard. All ages, all backgrounds, all interests. All everything. Top-down, bottom-up, side-to-side encouragement and support within not only Berks companies but in our community. Join us in 2021 – we can’t wait to meet you.
