Micro-Weddings + Connecting with Family in 2021
If 2020 taught us one thing, it was to think outside the box and get creative. For those who chose to move forward with their scheduled wedding dates, many were forced to downsize into what is now coined as a “micro-wedding” – a wedding of 25 people or less.
While the guest count went down for their prechosen day, we still made sure that the special couple and their families were connected with their faraway families. And as we move farther into 2021, the below tips and ideas that Just Breathe. gleaned from 2020 can help you prepare for whatever comes our way.
Zoom Cocktail Hour – For guests who are not yet comfortable meeting in groups or who are unable to make your chosen date can join the start of your party through a Zoom link projected onto a large screen. Set this up in your cocktail hour area and as your guests pass by, they can ‘cheers’ your faraway guests and even chat with them a bit.
Venue Alterations – If your venue has an indoor and outdoor option, consider hosting a portion of or your whole wedding outside. Many venues have taken proactive measures to help their guests host outdoor celebrations including large heaters and new tented areas.
Custom Masks – We expect that mask protocols are here to stay for a while. Party favors anyone? Add your names, your date, and even a silly hashtag or message on the mask. And don’t forget to keep one for yourself!
Brainstorm! – Now is the time when everyone is thinking creatively! Brainstorm with everyone who is willing – your venue, your caterer, your wedding planner, your photographer – we all have ideas and the same goal…your happiness!
