How to Plan for 2021 Vacations with this Uncertainty?
For the last 20 years, I used to plan the entire year for all my vacations. Due to the pandemic and the uncertainty that exists in each country, I will not plan in advance for 2021. My greatest fear is that they will close the border, and because of the pandemic, they will not let me enter the United States or that when I arrive at my destination, they will send me to quarantine for 14 days. (Believe me, nobody wants to stay locked in a hotel for that long).
Obviously, I am afraid of catching COVID-19 during the trip because the risk exists everywhere. If I travel by plane, my chance of contagion is high, and the same is if I go by train or by bus.
I think the best thing to do is to drive and stay where you can appreciate nature. Because if there is such a vaccine, it is most likely that it will not be available to ordinary citizens until a year later, so not to risk being quarantined, it is better to play it safe and stay close to home.
If you live on the east coast, you can go to the mountains; the scenery is stunning. If you are in PA, NY, or NJ, the Poconos is around 3 hours away, and they have tons of things to do for outdoor activities.
If you live closer to the beach where the weather is nice, there you have it!! I recommend the Florida Keys. Their beaches are beautiful. Key Largo is only one hour from Miami, and Key West is four hours away.
Don’t let this pandemic ruin your vacations. The United States is by far one of the most diverse countries globally due to the different regions, and it has unique and pretty awesome places to vacation.
