When we talk about technology, there are many concepts that you need to pay attention to. Concepts like security, privacy, health, and information are part of our everyday lives. Any lack of attention could seriously affect your life, so it is important to keep them updated.
Security
Use 2FA (Two-factor authentication) when it is possible. During the pandemic of COVID-19, cybercrimes increased by almost 50%. Using 2FA technology allows us to be vigilant if someone is trying to access any of your accounts.
Privacy
Use a VPN (Virtual private network). VPN use increased 150% during the pandemic of COVID-19, if you are not using one please consider research and install it on your devices. The primary function of a VPN is to keep all your interactions on the internet private.
Health
Install the COVID Alert PA app. This app helps you know if someone that is experiencing symptoms is near you or you can report your symptoms as well. This way people are aware and can protect themselves. By using proximity Bluetooth technology and push notifications, it keeps you alert. It shows you statistics about cases in PA.
Another way to help with your health is by activating “Screen time statistics” on your cell phone. After a week of gathering statistics, you realize how much time you are spending on your devices.
Information
Do automatic backups. Many online services allow you to back up periodically all your data. Even if you lose your cell phone, you can quickly recover all your information.
I’m hoping that you find these concepts applicable and helpful in your everyday life and allow you to improve and to update your technology for the new year.
Until the next time…
