Rain Check Please
I have heard many people say that this year will go down in history and it won’t even be counted. It is something that when listening to it provokes laughter, but at the same time curiosity. They jokingly say: We did not use it, we did not celebrate birthdays, we did not have parties or large public events, everything was paralyzed by the pandemic, so it does not count! And although we want it to be like that, it is not that way.
As I shared with you in previous articles, let us learn to see the positive in every situation. I know that many families were sadly impacted with deaths and sick relatives from Covid-19 and my heart goes out to them. However, we have to continue to live and treasure each day as a gift of life by living it to the fullest.
What teachings can we acquire from this particular 2020? That nothing is guaranteed! That the government may take time to respond, that jobs are not safe, that our freedom is NOT guaranteed. That a virus that cannot be seen can close cities, countries and create global chaos, that many borders were indeed closed and access restricted.
The most important lesson is that we are ALL replaceable in our jobs, but NOT in our families. Because empty chairs can’t be filled on holidays. When everything came to a standstill in the pandemic, we had time to bring the house up to date, to be with the family and to finish things that we postponed every year, right?
I passionately believe that the almighty has given us a unique opportunity to stop the clock and that we finally understand that it is necessary to reset our priorities. Life can escape us so easily and it is necessary that we understand it.
In moments of crisis is where we polish ourselves and we become a better version of ourselves. My hope is that in the last month that we have left of this year we can all organize our agendas, priorities and start 2021 with a new approach, making a correct balance between God, family and work so that everything goes better for us. Do not lament for what could be and was not. Have a happy and blessed holiday!
