My name is Jorge Malave-DeJesus and I reside in Berks County with my family of Puerto Rican descent. I have three boys and one princess. I was born in Reading, PA but I grew up in Camden New Jersey. My life-like many others has had its ups and downs and today I’m lucky to be here and to tell my story.
In 2002 my family chose to get up and move to Baltimore Maryland where I made not so great decisions and one being the street life. I almost got murdered in the streets and that situation caused me to relocate and live with my grandfather back here in Reading and not by choice. It’s funny how I ended up right where I started which was odd but life happens this way.
Even though I graduated from High School I was still making poor decisions that landed me in the local county jail which gradually ended with me visiting a few state correctional institutions along the way. I was super addicted to street life which was consuming me entirely and almost cost me being murdered as I was shot 3 times. You would think I would have slowed down after the first time of almost being killed, but not me I was on the path of self-destruction. It wasn’t until I did almost 6 years in a correctional facility that I finally saw that my life was going to be lost forever if I didn’t make a decision to change immediately. That’s when I decided to live for my children instead of being selfish. Today I have managed to build a small empire that is still in the process of growing. I am the CEO/CFO of a company called The Primacy Firm with my partners. I also own a power washing company and I just opened up a clothing store with another partner of mine.
I also wrote a novel called ROCK BOTTOM that can be found at Barnes and Noble online, Ingram spark, Amazon, and Kindle. This is a major accomplishment for me and it goes to show you that no matter how rough or bad you think your situation is we can overcome anything if we truly want to. The sequel is in the works so stay tuned for it. I have big dreams and attainable goals that I know I will accomplish with hard work and consistency. Along the way I am an open book, my only wish is to help those who choose to be helped along the way. Stay tuned I’m not done yet!
