Years ago I read the book The Plague by Albert Camus. I never imagined that in my earthly life I would experience an encounter similar to those described by the author in his book written in 1947.
There is no doubt that at any time there is no worse feeling for the human being than the fear of not being in control of his life and freedom of movement. Humanity in general lives without thinking about how vulnerable and fragile we are. When an epidemic of this magnitude arises, we realize that we are all in the same boat. In the face of the crisis, feelings emerge and we see the ones who are afraid, the selfish, the humanitarian, the religious, and many more, each one giving his best to face the enemy.
The constant observation that I have made is the love for family. It is great to see each of the family members protecting themselves by looking for alternatives so that children, adults, and the most vulnerable are not affected. I see many exposing themselves to seek the livelihood of their families. It is love that pushes us in uncertain times to move on. The love of life that although it gives us low blows it is one that we must protect.
For love and with love we will get out of this. As Camus writes “There are those who are afraid and those who are not, but the most numerous are those who have not yet had the time to have it.”
