Back in 2012 my husband and I received a letter in the mail stating that a family member of mine was in a bit of trouble and her son 11 months at the time was in foster care. My husband and I jumped into action and took in Jaison.
We know that this would come with some challenges especially having two children already and starting all over with a toddler. To our surprise, we get a call the following Saturday that baby girl Carmen’s sister to Jaison was born and we were to pick her up from the hospital. Usually, when a child is in foster care they try and keep siblings together. So we now had a newborn, a toddler and two young boys.
It’s funny how God works in mysterious ways, my husband and I just weeks prior were speaking about having more children. Due to some medical complications with having my first two children, it was not a risk I was willing to take. After a few months of fostering the final verdict was adoption. Our family of four became officially a family of six. We couldn’t imagine life any other way and we thank God for his intervention and building our beautifully unique family. We call ourselves TEAM JORDAN because we are not a team if one is missing. We hope that our story inspires you to open your heart and home to a child or children in need.
