What’s the general rule of thumb for makeup as it relates to daytime events or the workplace? Daytime makeup and nighttime makeup should not be confused, however, for the sake of this article, we will focus on day rules.
The most important rule is to keep it simple and lightweight. Makeup should enhance our best traits without looking like we tried too hard. The second rule is to keep it neutral. We should always pick colors that complement our undertones. For example, people with light olive undertones look great in cool neutrals and those with dark olive undertones look great in warm neutrals. Figure out your undertone and have some fun with colors that compliment you. The final rule is to know your occasion and make yourself up accordingly. For example, if going to work at the office, keep it light and professional. If going on a lunch date maybe add a tad more color to your eyes or lips to make it more fun.
In any case, the power of makeup is incredible because women can transform themselves to look refreshed, work-ready, or simply look more polished with just a little bit of effort.
