It is the first edition of the year and for the 2020 decade. I can’t believe how time goes by so fast. I am proud of my achievements as this magazine Palo is also celebrating its decade this year. But I am much more proud of the achievements of my community.
I was sitting and thinking the fact that many of my clients started with food carts, corner stores, or cutting hair from their homes, among other businesses, and nowadays they own supermarkets, large salons, barber shops, car dealers, several tire shops, and clubs, etc. Some have more than 5 and up to 25 employees, which in turn they are also helping our economy by offering jobs. I’m so proud of that.
I can’t wait to see what this new decade has to offer. Every year twice a year I give a customer service class as a guest of the LBRC (Latino Business Resource Center) and I tell you that in 2019 the classes grew more than double, indicating that there will be much more businesses opening in the near future . If your goal is to open a business in 2020 do not forget that opening a business is super easy even if you don’t believe it, the difficult part is to keep it running and make a profit. You must also be prepared for the sacrifice that comes with that business, because the first sacrifice is your family. If you think you will work less than 8 hours, the truth is that it’s more like 15 hours or more to make the business known, and to grow it. And sometimes you won’t see a profit for a good long time. In other words, if you want to do a business you have to prepare well and be realistic.
But don’t think I’m discouraging you I just want you to prepare well in order to be successful in what you want to do. I send my blessings for the year 2020 and do not forget that “yes you can.”
