Traveling the world is fun but it requires a system to reduce stress while you are away. Here are some suggestions:
Make a list of pending tasks that will need attention during your trip. Find solutions for those tasks before you leave and when possible have a backup.
Example:
Pick kids up from school, feed the dog, etc.
Leave a list of contacts for whoever’s watching your house so they can handle unexpected surprises.
Example:
Plumbing leaks, power outages, etc.
Leave a copy of your itinerary in case things go wrong.
Leave a will and tell someone where it is.
Make sure you sign up for online banking, paperless statements and automatic billing payment for your utilities and credit cards.
Inform your credit card and debit card companies of your planned whereabouts.
Have a savings accounts and an expense account, the idea is to have budgeted ahead of time for all the traveling so you don’t have debts when you are back.
If traveling abroad arrange a way to communicate internationally.
Example: internet, phone calls, etc.
Create an online photo album while you travel so you don’t have to do it when you are back.
Make a list of the things you want to accomplish when you are back to reality.
