I always loved Volkswagens and have always had hobbies that included building and restoring cars. One day I found a 1972 Volkswagen Super Bettle posted for sale on LetGo.com and was interested in restoring it. With talking with the seller, I discovered he had driven the Bettle up from Colorado in order to find a buyer. I was able to trade my Harley Davidson motorcycle for the Super Bettle.
Over the next 2 years, I spent much of my free time restoring the 1972 Volkswagen Super Bettle. I searched high and low for various parts that I needed for the Bettle, driving as far as South Carolina to find the necessary parts at Volkswagen car shows. I took the engine out and completely restored it, cleaned it, and rebuilt it. I upgraded the engine from a 1500 CC motor to a 1776 CC motor. I stripped the car down to the bare frame in order to customize it to what I wanted. Most of my free time was spent restoring this classic car. Now that it is complete, I plan to take the Volkswagen Super Bettle to car shows to show it off to other Volkswagen and antique car fans.
