Incredible but true that we are closing another year. Many plans and goals achieved yet others are still in the process but the important thing is that we are alive and every day is a new opportunity to make things much better.
When I was thinking about what I could write to finish off the year a thought came to my mind that caused me anxiety, and it made me sad for a moment. I am totally honest because I am human. I will tell you what I thought; “How many more Christmas celebrations do I have left in this life?” I immediately realized how really short human life is. The year has 365 days but if we look at it from the perspective of how many birthdays, Thanksgivings and how many more Christmas celebrations we have left especially if we go by the life statistics, many of us have already exceeded more than half of the holidays to celebrate and live.
We live in such a daily rush yet we think we have an eternity left, and that we will have many years to close cycles, to do things, we leave everything for tomorrow, for the week, for next month and even for the following year and just like that life escapes us in a blink of an eye.
I think it is time to pause the speed at which we are living our lives and live every day with purpose. Make each day a special one where we don’t keep anything inside, living the day as if it were our last day or our last season. Make that phone call to that being who distanced himself due to misunderstandings, forgive the one who hurt you, do not accumulate resentment so that on the day you make that trip without return you do not have overloads. Close this year by slamming the excuses of: “I don’t have time or I’ll do it another day”. And receive the New Year 2020 taking time to live!
