Roberto Vinces was born in Lima, Peru, and lived in Callao until he was 5 years old. His family then immigrated to the United States to search for better opportunities. Roberto went to school in the Quakertown School District and later attended Temple University. He majored in Broadcast Telecommunications and Mass Media. Although he’s lived here most of his life, Roberto says he will never forget his Peruvian roots and is proud to tell everyone he is Latino.
Roberto first started as a photojournalist/video editor for Channel 69 Spanish news in 2005. He worked his way up the ladder to his current position as Sports Anchor. Soccer has taken Roberto around the nation and abroad. He played semi-professional soccer here in the United States and professional soccer for a few teams in Peru.
Growing up, when Roberto wasn’t on the soccer fields, he had a passion for video production. He would always be the one videotaping family events and sporting events. Roberto says he would even commentate some soccer games in which his older brother and father played. Roberto is a fan of every Philadelphia sports team. His goal he says is to share his love of sports with local fans, and he hopes to encourage viewers to support our local teams.
